WHO AM I? Where is home?

A mob boss’s stepdaughter named Hope and an undocumented boy named Chance fall in love. Chance wants to save Hope from being forced to marry a crooked cop.

But after an explosion changes her face and wipes her memory, they can’t recognize each other.

And what has she left behind to find her?

Not even a glass slipper.

Only some slippery glasses.

The play is an offbeat musical fairy tale in which

romance, mystery and comedy collide: ...

            ..imagine Cinderella

             directed by Hitchcock

       in A Funny Thing Happened

On the Way to the Forum.

But the play also has meaning beyond a simple

  • fairy tale
  • mystery
  • or farce

Have you ever

  • Seen your home vanish in an airplane window?
  • Left home to be on your own?
  • or lost family?

Hope and Chance lost homes too, but then escaped into dreams,

Hope dreamt of the home she once had with her departed mother.

Chance dreamt of a home he never knew.

But to find a real home, they couldn't return to a past that no longer existed.

They needed to develop an identity of resilience, independence, and self-worth.

To find home, they first needed first to find themselves.

The Story

After a desperate bid for freedom with Chance, Hope loses her memory in a blast.

She's dropped into

a bizarre musical dreamworld

with only a shopaholic ghost mother and an overcaffeinated wrestling partner

to help.

Now, she must find her identity and home

before the mob finds her, immigration takes Chance, and their dream of a home is lost forever.
